Letter to Władysław Glocer

part of the collection

The letter from Halina Kraus to her brother on 1 card. From the contents of the letter (original spelling): "How to thank you, how to express to you my gratitude and joy! Just now I received your letter of 27 XI. I always knew that You would save them, that You would succeed. I can imagine how happy they are, that they see the end of their troubles. Here I am constantly visiting various people and offices, but to no avail. It was just a waste of my time. But I thought that perhaps I could at least bring Father here. The old man would have so much fun in Palestine. But maybe it's better this way. Two big journeys would probably be too hard for Father, and his goal is certainly to be with you". | Between 1941 and 1947, Mieczysław Kraus worked for the (Polish/British) intelligence service, which enabled the family to leave Yugoslavia for Palestine. While Mieczysław was travelling in connection with his duties, Halina lived in Tel Aviv and Stefan studied in Jerusalem. | MW, MF
