Letter to Władysław Glocer

part of the collection

Letter from Halina Kraus to her brother on 3 pages. From the body of the letter: “I’m constantly aware of the state of health of our beloved Old Man. You can understand what I feel, stuck here, when I tear myself away with all my soul to sweeten his suffering, to be where I belong. It’s horrible that a stranger, a nurse, is there with my Father and not me. But what can I do – I’m powerless. They don’t want to issue a return visa here for our Polish passports, and without this visa they won’t let me into any country, unless as an immigrant. Oh, when will that U.S. visa come? Perhaps it would be possible to intervene in Washington, after all?”
