Letter to Władysław Glocer

part of the collection

The letter from an unnamed person to Wladyslaw Glocer on 2 cards. From the content of the letter (original spelling): "After the end of the September Campaign until 1.V 40 I was in Tarnopol, Lvov, Przemyśl. On May 2, 40 I returned to Warsaw. I went straight to your flat in ¯urawia Street. I thought that maybe I could be of some help to your family. I found no one, as the Germans had removed them from the flat; I could not find out where your family had moved to. I was in Warsaw for 9 months and was left alone. On 23 January 41 at 6.21 a.m. Gestapo men came to me. They took me to the Gestapo, kept me there till the evening, and in the evening they took me to the Pawiak prison. I spent 2 months in the Pawiak prison and was transported to an oflag (prisoner of war camp). I was successively in oflags Silberberg, Sandbostel, Lubeck and Woldenberg. On 30.01.45 the Soviet Army liberated us from captivity". | MW
