List of streets of the Jewish district

Typewritten document in German. No signatures and seals. This is a list of streets in the city of Tarnów that were part of the fenced ghetto established in 1942. The streets designated for Jews – both city residents and people brought from nearby towns – were located in the centre and in the north-eastern part of the city (in the Grabówka district). The ghetto included, among others, Folwarczna, Kupiecka, Nowa, Dębowa Streets, Pod Dębem Square, Dożywocie Square, Magdeburski Square, Bóżnic, Polna, Gołębia, Wschodnia, Nowodąbrowska Streets, blocks between Lwowska and Słoneczna Streets: Starodąbrowska, Widok, Krupnicza, Ochronek, Garbarska, Spadzista, Krawiecka, Stolarska, Jasna Streets. The Tarnów ghetto began to be liquidated in September 1943, with the Jewish population being murdered on the spot and transported to extermination camps. On 9 February 1944, the Nazis announced that Tarnów had become Judenfrei – free of Jews.
