Lubka

Jamiołkowska, Aleksandra (1993- )

The imagined portrait of a Russian girl, Lubka; drawing. In the short film Syberyjski diament [Siberian Diamond], based on the oral history interview with Jerzy Diatłowicki videotaped in 2016 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgxK-5rEiRU), the image is intercut with the words: "Her name was Lubka, that I remember". Jerzy Diatłowicki says: "I think I fell in love when I was four, with a seven year old Russian girl, you could say. Her name was Lubka, that I remember. And for some reason, I don’t know why, angry at me, she just shouted: Yevriey, Yevriey" (more on this event in the description of the object MPOLIN-M390).
