Portrait of a light-haired woman from the series "Warsaw Portraits". The intimate portrait of a pensive figure sitting indoors is reminiscent of classical painterly representations. It is a thoughtful composition returning to the traditions of the photographer's craft – contrary to the quick and careless documentation typical of contemporary photography. However, the main task was to portray a member of the contemporary Jewish community in Warsaw and to answer the question of identity and its meaning for the portrayed, a sense of acceptance or lack thereof. And, as with the previous photograph in this series (MPOLIN-M1408), appearance stereotypes.
