Roughly square piece of parchment filled with Hebrew verses from the Torah handwritten in black ink, distributed in twenty-two lines. On the reverse, there are two inscriptions – one in the middle and one by the left edge, two-thirds from the bottom of the page. The lines impressed to help write the text are still visible on the scroll.

The mezuzah is a religious item very characteristic of Judaism. It consists of two excerpts from the Torah, namely from the Book of Deuteronomy, written on parchment and locked in a box made of wood, metal, or glass. The mezuzah is traditionally hung on the right side of the interior door frame, and each person entering the building should touch it.

The item forms part of the prewar collection of the National Museum of Przemyśl. Due to missing inventory documentation it has been impossible to determine how it became property of the Museum.
