Mortar

Jamiołkowska, Aleksandra (1993- )

Imagined depiction of a mortar with pestle which the Diatłowickis took with them heading East. Placed on the left side of the sheet near the half of its height. Depicted from the side: the mortar’s upper edge is a straight line (not a semicircle which would be showing the inside). The mortar gets wider towards its upper edge. The pestle is sticking out diagonally to the right, with a bulk at the end. Pencil smudges, especially on the right side of the drawing.

After conversation with Jerzy Diatłowicki, the illustration of various objects taken to the exile (especially the mortar and the pestle) was processed digitally in order to create a new depiction (see note to the drawing MPOLIN-M398).
