In the collection of the Museum of the Eastern Borderlands in Lubaczów, objects related to Jewish culture hold an important place. They bear witness to the presence of Jews, who were an important part of the multicultural community of the Eastern Borderlands of the former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Judaica come from both the Lubaczów area and the former eastern lands of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The oldest artefacts date back to the 18th century, while the newest ones bear witness to the extermination of the Jewish community under German occupation during World War II. The collection of Jewish art is of high artistic value, consisting mainly of objects related to Jewish religious life in the context of festive rituals practised in homes and synagogues. Different types of archival documents, photographs and postcards, as well as Hebrew prints, are of great historical value. The collection is complemented by paintings and prints on Jewish themes. The post-war documentation of synagogues and Jewish cemeteries, including the matzevot hewn at the Stare Brusno stone-works, occupies an important place.
