New Jewish Cemetery in Królewiec

Photographic documentation of the site

In 1875, when the Jewish community of Königsberg had grown considerably, another extensive cemetery was built between the Lithuanian Embankment and the then fortress road. It is now referred to as the Jewish cemetery on the Lithuanian Embankment (Russian Jewriejskoje kładbiszczie na Litowskom Wału, Еврейское кладбище на Литовском Валу), although on some German maps from before the war it is called the New Jewish Cemetery (German Neuer Judenfriedhof). It can be accessed from Jubiliejnoj Street, a thoroughfare of Gagarina Street.
