Pair of Torah scroll finials

Pair of rimonim – decorative finials of a Torah scroll. They are made of silver-plated brass and have short, plain shafts with two nodes on each, convex feet, and slightly conical bowls. The profiled foot is decorated with a cabochon motif and blends smoothly into the plain shaft. The two nodes are separated by a spandrel. They have the shape of flattened balls and are decorated with the motif of acanthus leaves and a roller in the centre. The bowl issues directly from the larger node and is covered with a convex lid. The edge of the bowl is adorned with an acanthus leaves ornament. Attached to it are six fixtures for bells. The lid is decorated with a palmette motif and topped with a six-arch crown. The arches bear a pearl beading decoration; between them, there is a brass bowl with a dove standing on its top.

The item forms part of the prewar collection of the National Museum of Przemyśl. Due to missing inventory documentation it has been impossible to determine how it became property of the Museum.
