Photo by Ewa Rodzynek and Jerzy Kolasinski against a background of trees

Photograph showing Ewa Rodzynek with her then boyfriend Jerzy Kolasiński, whom she met on the train after escaping from the ghetto. Jerzy escaped from a round-up that would end with him doing forced labour in Germany. Together they managed to reach Warsaw. Jerzy introduced Ewa to his superior Tadeusz Sarnecki, a member of the Home Army who, because of the organisation's slip-up in Łódź, had to move to Warsaw (Archive of the Jewish Historical Institute, Documentation of Holocaust Victims, ref. 50).
