Photograph

The photograph shows a group of young men standing in a semi-circle on a rocky ground. A low wooden fence and mountains can be seen in the background. They are all wearing short trousers and short-sleeved or sleeveless shirts. Some of the men are not wearing shirts. The man standing in the middle of the composition has a spade in his hands, which he sticks into the ground. Most of the men are looking at the lens. The four men standing on the right are pointing at something with their fingers (to the left). The others are passing something from hand to hand (stones?). To the right of the group we can see a plaque on a pole with an inscription in two rows. The inscription is illegible.
