A black and white photograph from June 1940 depicting the entrance to the ghetto

in Łowicz. In front of the entrance, there was a sign on a wooden pole with information

in Polish and German: "TEREN ZAMIESZKANIA ŻYDÓW/ WEJŚCIE WZBRONIONE/ WOHNGEBIET DER JUDEN/ BETRETEN VERBOTEN"(Residential Area for Jews/ Entry Prohibited). The passage is blocked by a wall, and urban buildings are visible in the background. On the reverse side, there is a handwritten note in English (in red): "Łowicz – July 1940/ Jewish ghetto/ as seen from/ old market/ place."
