Photograph of Ewa Rodzynek in a coat, leaning against a fence

The photo shows Ewa Rodzynek leaning against a fence. Full-body photograph. Ewa is dressed in a light-coloured coat and carries a handbag on her left arm. Edges of photographs serrated. | Ewa avoided being transported from the liquidated ghetto in Białej Podlaskiej to the ghetto in Miedzyrzec. As she herself recalls in her biography: "Rumours began to spread that all the Jews were being deported to the ghetto in Miedzyrzec. On 2 November 1942, I escaped from work and wandered around random barns for two days. On 4 November, I sneaked home, and together with my mother we boarded a train heading towards Warsaw. […] The journey was disrupted by a German search and document control. My mother, in panic and confusion, got off in Miedzyrzec, and this was my last contact with her" (Archive of the Jewish Historical Institute, Documentation of Holocaust Victims, ref. 50).
