Photographer Joseph Singer captured, somewhere behind the scenes in London, a warm scene of greeting between two piano virtuosos: Felicja Blumental and Arthur Rubinstein. Felicja, grey-haired, in a short astrakhan coat (astrakhan, i.e. lamb fur, then considered an elegant and fashionable covering) greets Rubinstein with respect, while he –slightly bent– shakes her hand cordially. | Renata Piątkowska
