Photograph of Helena and Leon Leipziger at the swimming pool

Swimming pools were a huge attraction in the past and attracted city residents who were eager to relax. Leon and Helena Leipziger also spent their free time on one of them. In the photograph, the couple are standing by the metal steps descending into the pool pit. Leon has dark swimming trunks with a white stripe. He stands partly in the water, holding onto the bent railing of the ladder with his left hand. In front of him stands Helena, dressed in a dark swimsuit, belted with a white belt. She is wearing a light-coloured cap on her head and a light shoe is visible on her left foot, which extends forward. He holds onto the metal railing with both hands. Guests can be seen enjoying a swim in the pool, next to and at some distance from the Leipzigers. In the back, by the shore, there are starting blocks, a flag pole, a lifebelt stand and a resting area. Behind the fence, against a backdrop of tall trees surrounding the pool, stands a crowd of people watching the bathers. The photograph is a vertical rectangle with serrated edges. It was made in black and white.
