A photograph of Krystyna Niedziółka (Christine Tibiki) at the Institute for Nuclear Research

Krystyna Czaplicka, later on: Niedziółka, most of her professional life worked at the Institute for Nuclear Research, which was established in the mid-1950s in order to develop nuclear research and nuclear engineering in Poland and to enable the economic use of nuclear energy (see www.ncbj.gov.pl/en/history-ncbj/ncbj-roots-history-institute-nuclear-research-1955-1982 [accessed 22 June 2021]). Initially, she worked in the branch in Żerań (where research on nuclear fuels was carried out), then in Służewiec.

Krystyna, like many other Polish Jews working at Institute in Warsaw and in Świerk, was discharged in March '68.
