In 1934, Szczekacz and his friend Julian Lewin began to study drawing with Maurycy Trębacz (1861-1941), the doyen of Łódź painters. In the photograph we see Trębacz (in the middle, frontally, wearing a white kit), from left: Lewin (standing), NN, Szczekacz (sitting). The photograph was taken on 1 April 1934. The teacher affixed his signature to them and presumably offered the photograph to the students. | RP
