A black and white photographic print, on glossy paper. The photograph shows the New Synagogue in Tarnów, the front of the building and the golden dome crowning it are visible. The photograph was taken in the late1930s. 1930s The New Synagogue, also known as the Jubilee Synagogue, was opened in 1908 (after over 40 years of construction) on the birthday of Emperor Franz Joseph I, in the 60th year of his reign. The synagogue was set on fire by the Germans in November 1939. The ruins were gradually dismantled. Currently, there is a housing estate on the site.
