Photograph of Teodor Bok

It is part of the collection

On 1 May 1971, in the rocks in the Ostrężnik massif in Złoty Potok near Częstochowa, Antoni Szabanio photographed Teodor Bok supporting a climbing friend from the PTTK (Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society) Warsaw Speleological Club. Parallel to the art world, Teodor was more and more attracted to the world of mountains and caves. There, he would find freedom and friendship, about which Vladimir Vysotsky, popular in Poland at that time, sang:

To the peaks take this man – don't fret.

Do not leave him alone, on his own

Let him share the same view with you –

Then you'll know if he's true.
