Photographs of representatives of the Jewish community of Olkusz

Twenty-five photographs (positive prints) with dimensions of 19 × 23.5 cm or smaller photographs depicting the Jewish community in Olkusz. The photographs include eighteen portraits, including one of a woman – Alfreda Lender (1921-1942?), a graduate of the Girls Senior High School in Olkusz and a scout and conspirator (Secret Scout Organization "10"). The photographs also capture individuals such as Josek Lender (1864-1943), an entrepreneur and owner of an aluminum utensil factory and properties in Olkusz, and Izrael-Hersz Frejlich (1887-1942?), born in Chęciny, who arrived in Olkusz in 1907 and engaged in trade, owning a jewelry store. The photographs of the new Jewish cemetery in Olkusz (at Ołowiana Street / ul. Ołowiana), which was established at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, are also of great interest. Thanks to these photographs, the tombstones can be seen in their full splendour, which were devastated both during and after World War II, losing their original beauty. The remaining documents depict the town's residents in various family and friendly situations, as well as at official ceremonies and during leisure time.
