The plate was used to serve meals to the Jewish Hospital patients in Sosnowiec (as evidenced by the inscription visible on the collar).

It is a shallow plate made of faience and painted white under-glaze. On the rim, halfway across the width of the collar and in horizontal orientation, is the inscription: "Jüdisches Krankenhaus" (German: Jewish Hospital). The inscription was made with black underglaze paint, stylised as handwriting.

The maker's signature is visible on the underside: intertwined letters "GC" and two crossed pickaxes above them. In 1925-1929, this signature was used by the company "Giesche, Fabryka Porcelany, SA", which functioned in Katowice under this name until 1948.

The vessel was donated to the Museum together with another similar plate (MPOLIN-M840) bearing the inscription mentioned above in black.
