Platter knife

The first of a set of six platter knives bearing the trademark "BUBELA | SHEFFIELD STEEL", visible on one side of the blade. The knife is silver in colour. The blade is made of stainless steel; the handle is plated. The blade is oblong with a rounded edge, while the handle is flat and widens downwards. The lower part of the handle is decorated with an art déco geometric motif. The decoration consists of two simple grooves (thinnings) running along both edges of the handle. The end of the handle is bevelled where it has been thinned.

While at the table, each person is allocated a space measuring around 70 cm in width. Thus, one must keep the elbows close to the body so as not to bump into neighbours. By the time the diners take their seats, everything they will need for their meal should be on the table. Cutlery should be arranged according to the order in which the dishes are served, starting with those furthest from the plate (outer). So if you ever find yourself unsure of which cutlery to start with and what to use for each dish at an elegant party, simply follow this simple rule of thumb.
