A woman with short dark hair stands on the right side by the stove, stirring a pot with a spoon in her left hand. She is dressed in a white robe and a dark apron. Above and behind her are shelves with kitchen utensils. The stove door is open and a fire is burning inside. At the bottom, a bucket and firewood for the stove are visible. In front of the woman, three children – boys dressed in dark robes and kippahs are sitting at the table. In the background stands a man with his head slightly bowed. He is dressed in a light robe and apron, wearing a dark kippah. In the lower left corner, there is a signature: "W biednej rodzinie żydowskiej oczekiwanie na posiłek" ("In a Poor Jewish Family Waiting for a Meal"). In the lower right corner, the signature reads: "1971 J. Charyton."
