Portrait of Bronisław Anlen

nieznane

Portrait of Bronislaw Anlen (1907-1984), a dental technician born at Nalewki Steet in a poor Jewish family. He lost his wife and daughter in the Warsaw ghetto. He was a prisoner in the Pawiak Prison and survived by pretending to be an altar boy. Philanthropist, supported children from Jewish families. Anlen was a friend of the Borejsza family after the war. The portrait was framed, also in passe-partout, and probably hung in the Borejsza house.

Jerzy W. Borejsza devoted a special chapter to Anlen, entitled “Bronek and Zosia” in the book “Ostaniec, czyli ostatni świadek” ( Wielka Litera, Warsaw 2018).
