Portrait of an old man

Haber Beron, Aron (1908-1933)

The drawing from around 1930 (pencil, crayon, paper, 18 x 17.8 cm) shows a head of an old man presented en face. The head is round and bald, with some curly hair at the temples. The face is fleshy, heavily wrinkled, the nose is short and wide, the eyes are small, the mouth is contorted in a grimace resembling a smile, the ears are wide and quite protruding. On the nose, there are glasses with ellipsoidal lenses and a thin wire frame. The drawing was made with a soft pencil, the line is thin, delicate, sinuous, supplemented with a white crayon. In the lower right-hand corner, there is a signature: "A. Haber".
