Portrait photograph of Leon Leipziger

The portrait of Leon Leipziger was taken as an identity photograph. A young man, with short, slicked-back hair, directs his gaze ahead. His face is slightly elongated and focused, his lips slightly tightened, his nose straight, his eyebrows thick and his eyes serene. He is dressed in a thick woollen jacket, pullover and light-coloured striped shirt. He has a tie under his neck. The photograph has serrated edges. On the reverse side there are four horizontal lines, allowing data to be entered. The print appears to have been made on postcard-sized paper, which had a distinctive print that allowed larger photographs to be sent as postcards. The photograph was taken using the sepia technique, in shades of brown.
