Portrait photograph of a woman wearing a striped hat, from page 7v of the Garnek family album

Photograph of a woman wearing a striped hat from under which her hair, cut short and framing her cheeks, is peeking out. Her bust and face are captured in three-quarters view. The woman has a serious expression on her face and is dressed in a thick coat with tails, underneath which is a white blouse (?). The background is dark – likely a studio setting. There is damage to the top layer of the print near the upper edge, close to its centre. The left and upper edges have a broader dark frame line, the right edge has a thinner one, and the lower edge lacks a frame line, showing discoloration or overexposure. A similar light leak or overlaid image appears in the upper part of the photograph. On the reverse side, there are rust-coloured (?) stains, possibly related to the history of the print, previously attached to a document or composition. In the photo album, when it was handed over to the collection, the photograph was placed in the left top slot of the verso side of page 7, above a photograph of a man which was placed in the same slot (MPOLIN-A58.1.20).
