Leśniak, Magdalena (1988- )

Representation of a blue military cap with a round crown and a visor. Cap presented from above, in a perspective that causes deformation of the base, the trim around the visor is coming off. The bottom and visor also painted on the edges of the painting. Light grey background. This is a 'portrait' of an exhibit from the museum's collection: a Royal Air Force (RAF) uniform cap, belonging to Henryk Ryszard Rozental (1924-2001) who wore it during his military training during the Second World War, inventory number MPOLIN-M533.

One of nine paintings commissioned by the Museum of the History of Polish Jews and painted by Magdalena Leśniak, a graduate of the Faculty of Painting and Graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. They were presented in the temporary exhibition 'Biographies of Things. Donations from the collection of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews' in 2013-2014.
