Radar

Bok, Teodor (1947-2007)

It is part of the collection

Despite being presented on numerous exhibitions under the name Radar that sculpture by Teodor Bok's looks definitely like a biplane. However, it is not, as in most cases of Bok’s machines, a realistic reconstruction of any ever existing biplane. Spearhead placed on top of the upper aerofoils, a rotor-like object, horizontal stabiliser attached at the plane’s back, or a high post with a spearhead (?) or a banner (?) on its wing are not to bee found on any archival pictures. The golden-green patina, as in case of his other smaller sculptures, on one hand makes this aircraft miniature seem like a bibelot, on the other it send us straight to the world of pop culture.
