The Reicher Synagogue in Lodz

Photographic documentation of the site

The Reicher Synagogue at 28 Południowa Street (currently Rewolucji 1905 r. Street) is currently the only functioning synagogue in Łódź. The synagogue was built in 1902 on the initiative of Wolf Reicher in a two-storey rear annexe building. Rooms formerly used as an exchange office were adapted for religious purposes. On the ground floor, a men's room with eight windows was created, while on the first floor a space was set aside for a women's room with 10 windows. Originally, the synagogue's windows featured stained glass with a Star of David.
