The Remah Synagogue (40 Szeroka street)

Photographic documentation of the site

The Remah Synagogue is located in the Kazimierz district of Kraków, at 40 Szeroka Street. The synagogue is abutted by gardens and yards of neighbouring houses. It is adjacent to the Old Jewish Cemetery. The cemetery and the synagogue courtyard are surrounded by an uneven wall, in places covered with tiles. Plaques transferred from other sites in Kazimierz are embedded in the wall around the courtyard. Among them there are also plaques commemorating the visits of important people to the synagogue. The Remah Synagogue is an Orthodox synagogue, the only one in Kraków where regular services are held on Sabbaths and holidays.
