Objects

An irregular oval field is sanded on the convex surface of the original shell. Inscribed in it is text in three lines. The first line is in Hebrew: “L’shanah tovah” (For the New Year), divided into two sections by a Star of David. The second line gives a date: 1914–15, and the third bears text in German: “Kriegsjahr” (war year).

The item was purchased for the Museum collection from a resident of Łódź in 1984.
