Sheva Bruchos at the Kreuss family, Me'a She'arim, Jerusalem

Traczewska, Agnieszka (1969-)

The photograph shows the ceremony of the seven blessings, which is one of the wedding rites. This is the part of the ceremony that involves reciting the seven blessings recorded in the Talmud, in Hebrew, over the wine cup, when the bride and groom are already standing under the huppah. The same blessings are also recited at the end of the wedding feast, and traditionally also at the end of each meal that the couple eats during the first week of marriage.

In the photograph, a group of women are standing in front of a mechitza (partition) separating them from a group of men.
