Shoemaker's pattern

part of the collection
part of the history

The object has a semi-circular shape on one side (resembling a horseshoe) and a straight edge on the other. Visible are fragments of Hebrew text, as well as numerous small holes along the edges and running diagonally across approximately one-third of the height. The text is concentrated on one side, closer to the rounded edge. On the reverse side, the handwritten note "P. Górna" (possibly a name or location) is visible in pen.

The visible portion of the text most likely comes from the Book of Genesis. The pattern was found in a defunct shoemaker’s workshop. According to the donor, the Torah scroll from which the pattern was made may have come from the synagogue in Rymanów (Podkarpackie Voivodeship).
