Signboard

It is part of the collection

After the end of World War II, Andrzej Kramsztyk’s family settled in Lodz. Andrzej soon got back to practicing law together with Kazimierz Mamrot. The signboard was attached to the wall of the Lodz tenement house where their office was located.

The rectangular signboard is made of sheet metal covered with light-brown paint with black, majuscule writing. Letters were placed in five rows. Four upper rows were probably made with the use of a stencil, the lowest row in cursive (which suggests handwriting). Letters in the first and the fifth row are a bit smaller than the rest. Thin, black lines alongside the plate’s edges create a frame for the writing. In the bottom right corner the handwritten signature of the plate’s manufacturers is added:: "B-cia JANOWSCY, PHONE 116-71". There are holes for screws in every corner.
