Photograph from the wedding ceremony of a dynasty family from Góra Kalwaria (Hebrew: Gur, Yiddish: Ger). This is a continuation of the scene seen in MPOLIN-M1553 – it shows the moment when the bride is likely photographed. Hasidic attitudes to photography are sceptical and even radically negative when it comes to capturing images of women. girls, and private family scenes. However, with advances in technology, some communities have acquiesced to women owning small cameras with which they can photograph important family moments, such as a wedding, but the images are not made public.
