Snuff box in the shape of a rectangular box with moulded sides. The lid is flat, hinged and decorated with rocaille motifs. A dedication in Hebrew was engraved on inner side of the lid: "In memory of ... the great Rabbi Gedali Shmelkes of blessed memory who stands at the head of the rabbinical court in Przemyśl." On the inside of the snuff box there is a faintly legible mark common for the Austro-Hungarian assay offices – a circle divided into three parts within a rectangle with rounded corners, with the date 1846 (?) in two rows on both sides. Other markings illegible.
The item was purchased for the collection of the District Museum in Rzeszów in 1974.
