Souvenir from a trip

Silver commemorative badge commemorating the Szymkiewicz family's trip to Israel/Palestine, presented by the Sztift family. It was made in 1928. The plaque is approximately square-shaped, topped with an arc. A movable support in the form of a leg was soldered to its rear. Central, circular section is separated by an embossed ornament filled with an inscription in Hebrew. The author of its translation into Polish is Baruch (Bolek) Kolski – a member of the Association of Kalisz Jews living in Tel Aviv. It reads as follows: "In eternal memory of the Szymkiewicz family on the day of their departure to Palestine, from the Shtift family. Kalisz 5688 [1928]." The inscription was made using an inlay technique and the badge measures 4 x 4 cm. The iten was purchased from a private person in 1977 and underwent conservation in 2020.
