Studio photograph of Anna Hochsinger (Zimmermann)

According to the notation on the back, most probably taken by the hand of Anna Hochsinger (Zimmermann), the photograph was taken in the school year 1909/10 when "I was in the third grade". Anna is older than in photograph no. MPOLIN-A31.3.20, and is wearing a grown-up, dark, floor-length dress. Her long hair is braided into two pigtails and pinned up in a so-called crown. In her hands, she is holding the album Palestyna (Palestine). Perhaps already then, the idea of Zionism, the return to Palestine, the biblical land of the Jews, and the dream of making it their new homeland, was close to her heart. Anna with her husband Cwi and son Ispo left for Palestine in 1927.
