Objects

The synagogue in Rohatyn (ukr.synahoha, синагога), also known as the Great Beth Midrash, is located in the north-eastern part of the city, at the address Walowa Street 3 (ukr. вулиця Валова, 3), within the former Jewish quarter. Its construction is dated by many sources to the late 19th and early 20th centuries, but it is already marked on Austrian cadastral maps from 1846. The initiators of its construction were Rabbis Alter Weidman and Jacob Lewenter.
