The Tempel Synagogue (Ukr. Templ, Темпль), at the current address of 10 Uniwersytećka Street (Ukr. вулиця Університетська, 10), was established in 1873-1877 on the initiative of Chernivtsi progressive Jews. It was designed by the outstanding Polish architect Julian Zacharewicz.
