Board from the comic strip novella about the journalist Paulina Appenszlakowa, co-creator of women’s magazines before the war (including ‘Ewa’, published in the late 1920s and early 1930s). At the beginning of September 1939, Paulina Appenszlak made it out of Warsaw and then to Palestine, taking her child with her. After the war, she did not return to Poland but remained in Israel (d. 1976). The comic strip is devoted to Paulina's longing for Poland; the suitcase with clothes preserved as a remembrance is a symbol of nostalgia.
