Torah pointer

The Torah pointer (Hebrew: yad) from the collection of the Regional Museum in Pińczów is richly decorated. It has three ellipses: one right at the hand and two at the handle. The lower part is plain and entwined with a vine, i.e. two weaved wires. The upper part is a quadrangle and one wall features two five-leaved flowers, a lion and a mineral – turquoise. It is crowned by the figure of a Jew standing in the centre of the Star of David on the largest ellipse.

The relic is a gift to the Pińczów Museum and is not associated with the town y or the region. The donor purchased it at an online auction.
