Untitled

Królikiewicz, Anna (1970-)

A photograph showing a close-up of one part of an art installation by Anna Królikiewicz – the 'Tradition' table. On this table, covered with a white tablecloth with the Hebrew inscription שבת שלום embroidered at the bottom (Shabbat Shalom, transl. welcome Shabbat), lies a monstrous challah, twisted and piled up. According to the author's description: "Table I (Tradition) refers to the omnipresence of tradition, its continuity and duration. The surreal, supernaturally long and twisted challah that wraps around the entire table also hints at the spiritual, symbolic dimension of food". This is one of three, along with MPOLIN-M1352 and MPOLIN-M1353, shots of the same object.
