Untitled (Nalewki x Długa x Bielańska)

Żmijewski, Artur (1966 - )

Photograph showing the junction of three current streets: Długa, Stare Nalewki and Bielańska. This is the beginning of the course of the former Nalewki Street (ul. Nalewki), the main artery of the pre-war Jewish district. The settlement of the Jewish inhabitants of Warsaw in this place contributed to the development of the street, which became the main trade route of the area. Nalewki Street (ul. Nalewki) found itself in the area of the Warsaw Ghetto and, like almost all of its buildings, was razed to the ground after the 1943 uprising.
