Katarzyna Warman was born in 1949 in Warsaw. Her parents came from assimilated Jewish families. Her father studied medicine, and her mother law.
Katarzyna Warman attended Stefan Batory High School. She was interested in literature and politics. In 1967, she began legal studies in the University of Warsaw. She discontinued them due to the March 1968 events and departure to Sweden with her family. “Since the moment I decided to emigrate, it had not been my country any more”, she says about several-months-long preparations to leave. Following one year studies of the Swedish language she commenced studying law in Stockholm.
She is involved in the activities of the Stockholm Jewish communities. One of her daughters has left for Israel.
