Webner's tenement house (Warsaw)

Photographic documentation of the site

The tenement house at 21 Brzeska Street was built in the early 1880s. It was erected by Karol Webner. It belonged to the Frydrychiewicz family since approx. 1900. Neither the Webner nor the Frydrychiewicz family were Jewish, but nevertheless a unique Judaica has been preserved here, which was created circa 1930: advertising inscription of the men's tailor Moszek Szatz, painted - as evidenced by the signature - by the painter Mordka Rubinsztajn, who lived at 17a Brzeska Street (the figures were identified by Szymon Patoka).
