Wooden studs in company packaging

"American wooden studs" made by the H. Belkes company from Siemiatycze used for attaching leather soles to shoes. The studs were about 1.5 cm long and made of birchwood. They were an indispensable tool of every self-respecting shoemaker. The owner of the stud factory was the entrepreneur Hersh Belkes, who had been active on the market since 1885. Belkes' enterprise was known above all for the production of ceramic tiles and wooden lasts used by shoemakers.
